Indiana Historical Society

As senior graphic designer for marketing at the Indiana Historical Society my role is to get the right information in front of the right people at the right time. That includes vertical digital boards for attendees of our Flavors of the Heartland cooking demo series—plus take-home recipe cards. It also includes fliers, swag, and calendar event images for our Walking With History tours and homeschool workshops. On top of that, I take photos of many of our events (as seen here) for use in our publications.

I design IHS’s publications, including the bi-monthly 24-page INPerspective member magazine, the quarterly 56-page Traces of Indiana and Midwestern History magazine, and larger projects such as postcards books for sale in our Basile History Market shop. I also partner with IHS Press for publication of memoir, local history, and young adult books, which includes design of the cover and interior, text revisions, gathering printer bids, and maintaining a press catalog.

A signature annual event at the Historical Society is the Indiana Living Legends black tie gala. Honoring leaders from across the state, design for the fundraiser is planned each year to match the linens and floral arrangements for a cohesive look. Invitations and programs are printed in-house on premium stock for an elevated experience.
