Admissions recruitment pieces

IUPUI’s Office of Admissions wanted to revamp their freshman viewbook with two goals in mind: show just how close the university is to the resources of downtown Indianapolis and make the degree options easy to find yet not overwhelming. As project lead and designer, I proposed a fold-out opening spread utilizing a drone shot of campus and downtown, with callouts for key locations. A walking-distance map later in the book showed just how many resources are within an easy stroll. For the degrees, I opted to use an uncoated center insert in a smaller size, making the list easy to find yet approachable. On the cover, smooth letters set against a textured black background helped the viewbook stand out in the sea of materials a student brings home from a recruitment fair. Once the client saw how successfully the viewbook was received by potential students they opted to apply the same concepts to a complementary piece to recruit transfer students.
